Welcome to The Cuddle Jar. These terms govern your use of thecuddlejar.com and any order you place with us. By browsing this site or placing an order, you agree to them.

We are a small gifting business based in Cairo, handmaking glass teddy bear jars filled with chocolate, nuts, sweets and drinks, and delivering them across Egypt.

1. Who can order

You must be at least 18 years old, or ordering with the consent of a parent or guardian, and you must provide accurate and complete information at checkout. You are responsible for the accuracy of the recipient's name, address and phone number.

2. What you are buying

Every price on this site covers a complete gift: the filled glass jar, the kraft gift box, a small teddy bear keychain and a handwritten message card. Jars are not sold separately, and the box holds up to two jars.

A tulle base is available at a premium over the standard paper base. Where a gift contains two jars, the price is simply the two single-jar prices added together.

3. Handmade items and product images

Each gift is assembled by hand. Small variations in fill level, arrangement, colour, ribbon placement and the exact appearance of the teddy bear keychain are normal and are not defects.

Product photographs are illustrative. We work to represent our gifts accurately, but colours can appear differently across screens, and the styling in a photograph is not a guarantee of the exact item you will receive.

4. Food, allergens and storage

Our gifts contain food. They are prepared in a kitchen that handles nuts, dairy, gluten and soy, and cross-contamination cannot be excluded. Allergen information appears on each product page.

If you are sending a gift to someone else, it is your responsibility to make sure the contents are suitable for them.

Some items are chilled or otherwise unsuitable for events and long transport — where that is the case, it is stated on the product page. Once your gift has been delivered, storing it properly is your responsibility, and we cannot be held liable for items that have melted, spoiled or gone stale after delivery.

5. Message cards

You may add a short handwritten message to your gift, subject to the character limit shown at checkout.

We write the message exactly as you type it, including any spelling or punctuation. Please check it before ordering — we cannot correct a message once your order has entered production.

We reserve the right to decline, without refund, any message that is abusive, threatening, obscene, discriminatory, defamatory, or that infringes someone else's rights. If we do, we will contact you first where we can.

6. Orders, pricing and payment

Placing an order is an offer to buy. Your order is accepted when we confirm it, and we may decline any order — for example where an item is unavailable, where we cannot deliver to the address given, where the message breaches section 5, or where we suspect fraud.

All prices are in Egyptian Pounds and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Delivery charges are shown at checkout before you pay.

Despite our best efforts, occasional errors in pricing or product information can occur. Where an item's listed price is clearly incorrect, we are not obliged to fulfil the order at that price — we will contact you to confirm or cancel, and cancel with a full refund if we cannot reach you.

Payment is processed by Shopify and its payment providers. We do not store your card details.

7. Lead times and delivery

Our gifts are made to order, so each product page shows a lead time. Delivery dates given at checkout are estimates, not guarantees.

Once a parcel is handed to our courier, timing is outside our control. We are not liable for delays caused by couriers, traffic, weather, public holidays or events beyond our reasonable control, though we will always help you chase a late order.

If nobody is available to receive a delivery, or the address is incomplete or incorrect, redelivery is arranged at your cost.

8. Cancellations and refunds

All sales are final. Orders can be changed or cancelled free of charge only before they enter production. Full details, including what happens if something arrives damaged, wrong or missing, are set out in our Refund Policy.

9. Our content

All content on this site — product photography, text, the Cuddle Jar name, logo and packaging design — belongs to us or our licensors. You may not copy, reproduce or use it commercially without our written permission.

If you send us photographs or tag us on social media, you allow us to reshare that content on our own channels with credit. Tell us if you'd rather we didn't.

10. Personal information

How we collect and use your information, and the recipient's, is set out in our Privacy Policy.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Subject to that, our total liability in connection with any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including missed occasions, disappointment, or loss of profit or opportunity.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page when you place your order is the version that applies to it.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the courts of Cairo have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. Nothing here affects your rights under Egyptian consumer protection law.
